City in Canton Aargau, Switzerland / May 19 – June 8, 1525 site of the Disputation of Baden between Catholic headed by Johann Eck and Reformed headed by Johannes Oekolampadius of Basel and Berchtold Haller of Bern / Zwingli was invited to attend from Zurich, 21km away, but did not appear / some 200 participants known by name / convened by the Federal Diet of Switzerland or Tagsatzung / the result was nine opting for the Roman Catholic Church and four for the Reformed faith / politically significant for religion throughout Switzerland
